Freeze panes

Click the Sales tab.

In the Sales worksheet, click cell A4.

Click the View tab.

In the Ribbon, click Freeze Panes, then Freeze Panes.

Scroll vertically in the worksheet.

The rows below the months should scroll.

What is "freezing?"

Freezing panes is a great help when working with large spreadsheets.

As shown in the example above, freezing panes makes it easier to see what numbers in cells represent.

In the Ribbon, click Freeze Panes, then Unfreeze Panes.

Scroll vertically in the worksheet.

The view should have returned to normal.

Click the heading for column C.

In the Ribbon, click Freeze Panes, then Freeze Panes.

Scroll horizontally in the worksheet.

The columns to the right of column B should scroll.

In the Ribbon, click Freeze Panes, then Unfreeze Panes.
